BMLT full form is Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology. BMLT course duration is 3 years. BMLT course or Medical laboratory technology involves the analysis of various medical specimens such as blood, urine, tissue samples, and other bodily fluids to help diagnose, monitor, and treat diseases.
To enrol in the BMLT course, candidates must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects with a minimum of 50%. Candidates must make sure that they have attained the age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission. Generally, the BMLT admission is based on the merit acquired in Class 12 Boards, however, there are some popular entrance exams such as CUET, TJEE, LPU NEST, IPU CET, etc. whose scores are accepted by BMLT colleges in India. In our State – Odisha, the Govt. adopted a very good admission system which is called Students Admission Management System or SAMS. Soon after publishing the result of +2 Annual Examinations, the Govt. invites applications from the interested candidates. The candidates are to submit their applications under SAMS and can choose their institute at their own choice. In SAMS, the candidate can choose their choiced institute from the given drop-down list. Our institute, strictly follow the fee structure as per government guidelines. At present admission fee is Rs.33,000 only and Course Fee per year Rs.50,000.00.The average monthly BMLT course fees range between INR 35,000 and INR 55,000.
Once graduated, BMLT course graduates can opt for job profiles such as LAB Technicians, Laboratory Managers, Railways Lab Assistants, etc. The average salary that a BMLT graduate can earn ranges between INR 2 LPA and INR 4 LPA. Candidates should fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements for the BMLT course. Those who wish to apply should check the BMLT eligibility criteria given below:
• Applicant must have attained the age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year of admission.
• They must have
passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board/institute.
• They must have
studied PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) as core subjects during Class 11 and 12.
• They should have scored
at least 50% marks in Class 12.
• The candidates who passed DMLT course, can undergo BMLT after one year that is called Lateral Entry.
Throughout three years, the BMLT course is broken up into six semesters. The BMLT course syllabus may vary from one educational institution to another. Candidates must keep in mind that specific BMLT courses may have variations or additional topics based on the institution and program structure.
